U of U CENTRAL PARKING
Salt Lake City, Utah
The Central Parking structure posed an opportunity to the design team. Taking advantage of the natural topography, a large portion of the four story structure is located out of sight while allowing access on three separate levels. Clad in a randomized pattern of large metal panels, created from smaller 30”x30” units, allowed for an economical method to break up the mass of the facility which is situated in a highly visible location. Not content to simply be a car park, this building also is home to a reduced size soccer/lacrosse field, complete with lights that is extensively utilized by the campus intramural leagues.
